Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone had this problem?? If changed under warranty won't they have to change the water lines and radiators as well?? Will this affect the value of my car?? Doesn't Porsche offer a two year warranty on a replaced part??
Can we know more about your problem? How it happened and why? was it due to overheat, abuse or just occured? where do you see the mix, radiator or oil dip?...

Is it mixing coolant or water with the oil? Is there oil in the water reservoir??
Water is a by-product of the combustion cycle, this condensation stays in the oil until burnt off. Do you drive your car often? If not change the oil and drive your car harder and more often.
The coolant resevoir seems to have a milky colour to it. The dipstick also seems to have something else besides oil on it. I have heard that 99 996 have had problems with oil and coolant mixing within the engine.
I do drive my car often and have 35k on it. I might add I drive it VERY HARD!!!
I'm not surprised. My my99C2 has been nothing but problems. I think you can count on a new (reman) engine, hopefully you are still under warranty or under extended warranty. After 2 coolant expansion tanks,2 transmissions, misc. oil leaks and now on tuesday the dealership gets to replace the SECOND rear main oil seal. No to mention the other common 99 problems--what a piece of S@#T-I will never again get another Porsche. Unfortunately for all the problems I have had--it isn't enough for the N.J. Lemon Law. My lease is up in about 18 months--I wish I could get out of the lease without a financial meltdown. According to numerous techs the problem you are experiencing is not that uncommon-I just hope it doesn't cost you money. Good Luck, you;ll certaintly need it.
Sorry to hear of those issues, but I have alot of clients who have had Porsche's then bought Corvette's and then quickly went back to the real McCoy...Porsche's! I have never had one problem with mine!

I've heard of this issue but I do not think its common.
This can be caused by a leaking engine oil cooler; its the one main component where engine oil & coolant pass each other and this IS a common failure on other German cars.
The Dealer should thoroughly flush the radiators and coolant lines with fresh water and the engine oil/filter should be changed twice in a row if just the cooler is replaced.
If they replace the whole engine, then the cooling system just needs careful attention, as above.
