Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does this signify window is off track or possibly something else?

POST 3Original post

xman: Typically means a problem with the regulator, but (as I had happen once) could be that the window glass has come loose from the regulator. Here is a link to a video on removing the door panel: You Tube If you are doing this yourself, be sure to use a heat gun or blow dryer to remove the plastic film inside the door. Be patient and it can be reused. GL

POST 4Original post

Sounds like a new window regulator is in your future.

POST 5Original post

Try this. Under the door there are 4 rubber plugs for access to the window reglator assembly, when you take them out you will see 2 plastic pulleys. Squirt oil onto the pivots of the pulleys and actuate the windows up and down and repeat. If it doesn't work, well you lost about 10 minutes out of your life.

POST 6Original post

Needs a new regulator . I got mine from Pelican Parts and had my body shop put it in, which was far cheaper than any mechanic. Shop rates are typically cheaper at the body shop ($45/hr vs $100+/hr).

POST 7Original post

Just a note that I finally got around to replacing my window regulator. The video above is perfect for removing the door panel, and this link was what I followed for the re/re or the regulator. http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/window/ Runs perfect now. If anyone is doing this and needs some help, PM me as it is fresh in my mind. Thanks !
