1999 Mk1, currently east Orlando not that far from you. Been overseas for the last six months and getting ready to blow the dust off her. Since she has been sitting for so long just wondering if I needed to do anything special before I turn the key.

Check all vital sign levels. Coolant, oil, air in tires and fire her up. Let her tick over for 5 mins and test her brakes early after leaving the garage. Take her engine revs no higher than 3500 revs on her first run. Test her hand/emergency brake on a slight incline when you are stopped. See does she pull one way or the other as you brake hard on a flat level surface with no camber. Watch all your dials. Other than that I think you should be good to go.

It may not "sound normal" for a few minutes. Probably will have some VT noise after start up. Ease up on the 35,000 revs though. A bit much, even for the M96.
