Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I found a 01 with 48k miles on it real clean all service done, I had it inspected all clear, two questions I've been reading a lot on here is that too many miles or just right and I just got carfax it had 5 owners but 2 were only for 3 months total I'm a little confused about that and it was registered as personal lease vehicle for two years.

Suggestion
Be sure you get a 15 mile test ride then a 15 mile test drive, follow with a PPI and a DME over rev counter read out which will (should) come with the total engine run time and check the odometer vs.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect clear, two questions i've been reading a lot' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check odometer vs' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Try and identify the previous owners and ask them. I did that when I was shopping for a 928 S4 and the info on the carfax didn't make sense. By talking to one of the previous owners, I found out the car had a "Salvage" title in California, and somehow they took it to Texas and the "Salvage" title vanished
Porsche figures average yearly miles at between 6K and 9K. An '01 with 48K miles is about 4K miles per year average. A bit low but that it is at 48K miles means that a majority of the new car issues (if any) have been sorted. Remember the new car warranty is 50K miles. (My 03 Turbo has a small raft of problems up to a bit over 50K miles but the CPO warranty took care of them.)
If the car has been reasonably serviced that doesn't feel like too few miles to me.
The two owners for 3 months reads like the car was bought and offered for sale with no taker and then sold at auction and then someone else tried his had at moving the car. Remember some dealers will use in this case a Turbo as a halo car. (I found a nice M-B and a Boxster in a Nissan car dealer's showroom in Blue Springs MO when shopping for a Boxster. The clientele in that area was more Nissan (or some other brand) vs M-B or Porsche. If the dealer manages to sell one he does so for a good premium. If the car sits too long unsold the dealer wholesales it away and moves on.)
The car might have left the showroom as a lease vehicle. Perhaps even been leased as a used vehicle. I'm not up on leases.
So far I read nothing really scary in your info about the car.
Be sure you get a 15 mile test ride then a 15 mile test drive, follow with a PPI and a DME over rev counter read out which will (should) come with the total engine run time and check the odometer vs. engine run time and see how the average speed, err, averages out.
Thanks I really appreciated all the info..he just lowered the price to $40k which is a good price so I was a little apprehensive thought maybe the car had issues..he is a forum member here.
Carfax identification of ownership change is often wrong. Read the entries closely. Sometimes a dealer will get counted multiple times or will sell the car to another dealer.
Lease history vehicles are common, an amazing number of 911s roll off the lot under lease. Dealers should not have been counted as owners but sometimes curbstoners don't really have a dealer license.
