This car had clean carfax and spent its whole life in California and then Arizona; the underbody has not a hint of rust; there were also 20+ maintenance records from Porsche dealers in CA and AZ, with all services being nearly exact number of miles apart.

Oil changes were done on the dot, waterpump was done at 100k miles, brake fluid at 110k, multiple inspections etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I am a new owner of 2002 Carrera 2. I am in Phoenix, AZ. 25 years old, this is my first p-car. If counted in chronological order, this is my car #12. Car has 117k miles on it. I got the long service history through Carfax. Oil changes were done on the dot, waterpump was done at 100k miles, brake fluid at 110k, multiple inspections etc. Pictures are below.

POST 2Original post

Very nice. Looks like a clean car. Drive safe and enjoy it! Where are those pix? Looks like New Mexico?.

POST 3Original post

Welcome to the board. Nice looking car. 25years of age and drift marks on the tarmac. If your car did those then start saving for some rear tires as they wont last long at that pace haha.

@Cuda911 This is Phoenix, South Mountain park area. @ HurdiGirdiman, drift marks aren't mine; the "towers" lot in the park is very remote and thats where people come for some shinanigans.

POST 7Original post

Welcome and congratulations on the purchase!! Have you been looking for a while? Looks really clean and well maintained. Now you need to switch out the Side Markers

POST 8Original post

looking good, that's one of the fastest colors too

POST 9Original post

Welcome. Should've gotten a manual, you would've gotten more chicks that way. lol. j/k. enjoy!!!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the compliments guys. @ECS Tuning, I spent over 3 months looking for the right car. I wanted 2002+ car that never saw snow, with service history, navigation, completely stock and automatic. This car had clean carfax and spent its whole life in California and then Arizona; the underbody has not a hint of rust; there were also 20+ maintenance records from Porsche dealers in CA and AZ, with all services being nearly exact number of miles apart. I wanted the automatic because it would most likely be less abused than a stick. It is hard to miss a shift and get an over-rev on the tiptronic.

POST 11Original post

I hope you dont mean once per year. Forget the Porsche manual on this part and follow the experts advice. Very nice car!

POST 12Original post

I'd follow KKs advice and do oil changes every 50 miles to be safe.

POST 15Original post

Nice! Care to share the approximate purchase price? So much speculation on value these days, it's always interesting to see what clean, well maintained examples actually transact for... People often list the absolute bargains that either might have undisclosed issues, or are purchased sight unseen, or are just very lucky finds rather than what buyers who are looking locally actually pay.

POST 16Original post

Very nice car A word of caution... keep your high mileage a secret ; otherwise, you will being sharing the dark side with the rest of us high mileage Porsche owners

POST 18Original post

How many miles ya got, Morgana? Here's mine from a few days ago:

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@pfbz I paid $17.5 for it. @morganabowen I already noticed that Porsche community has a different definition for "high mileage" than I am used to. Just for the reference, this is a video of my daily driver, she is now sitting at 190k miles. I got it dynoed just to see how much performance she lost after driving for 190,000 miles; dyno gave me elevation and temperature adjusted 263 crank HP, new it made 260 .
