Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just installed the Conti Extreme Contact DWs on my 18s a few months back and am very happy with the set!

But the rears I installed last spring feel very different.

I run the Continental Contact 2's, better than the DW's for autocross.

But I have run Contis (Sport Contact 2 and then DW) on this car from the start and been very satisfied.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have on my second set of DWs and these for some reason have far less grip and more flexible sidewalls than the previous set. The car is just not confidence-inspiring in hard corners as it was previously, with far too much lateral movement. I have played with tire pressures with no luck. I may dump them before they wear out.
IMHO, these are the cream of the crop of street tires right now.
BF Goodrich Rival
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Dunlop Star Spec ZII (or ZI for that matter, if you can find the right size)
Hankook RS-3
Kumho XS
Toyo RIR
Yokohama AD08
If you're looking for an all-around tire and live where it rains a lot, there might be better choices. But for grip in dry weather, go with any of these tires and you won't find yourself disappointed. The grip these tires offer are almost on par as some of the older r-compounds I have experience with.
Continental DWs are not cheap tires. This is Max Performance Summer tire from a major manufacturer that runs over $1,000 a set with installation. We ain't talkin' Fuzions here.

And, as I said, the previous set was very good. But the rears I installed last spring feel very different. I almost wonder if the composition or design changed.
Sometimes I wonder about you KK.
Seriously? You leave out the Porsche N3 Mich's from your list? I run these of course.

I like Michelins on my C4S. I am currently running the Pilot Sport PS2 after trying many other tires. I like it the best. I would try the Pilot Super Sport if they made it in the proper sizes for my car.
I'm afraid so. I find it difficult to
not
see things from an autocrosser's POV. To me (and I surmise most people who autocross competitively), the Michelin simply isn't a tire to consider based on the cost and more importantly, how it performs against all these other tires.
