Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

48 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

WOW! Not a single response post?!?!?!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could it be time of the year?

POST 6Original post

Someone out there is always looking for their next Porsche, be patient grasshopper. The more pics and info. the better.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone. Just updated the post with photos.

POST 9Original post

this is the 996 to buy, it has all the option and the additional power kit. I would have buy one of these when I bought mine but I cheapened out

POST 11Original post

In my opinion these cars are the best deals of the 996's. I have been extremely happy with my car #891. I purchased it in Feb '05 with 9k miles on it and have not had a bit on trouble with it. It now has 56k miles on it and I have enjoyed every mile. The X51 motor makes all the difference. Unfortunately just like you I now need to sell it. It has been listed on the Peachstate PCA website for a couple of weeks but I have had no luck yet. Good luck with your sale.

POST 12Original post

That looks damn good, I almost want to buy a second one! X51 and full optioned interior makes this a sweet car for someone to ****** up... if all the bumps and scrapes have high quality repairs, this should be a competitive choice for someone in the market for the 996! Good luck!

POST 14Original post

one thing i did notice (and not meaning to be critical) but the front bumper paint match looks darker than the original paint color. especially evident in your avatar photo which has better lighting than the other photos - was the front bumper painted at a different shop or at a later date and not color blended to the hood and fenders?

POST 16Original post

Hopefully you have also posted this to places where most of the readers do not already own Porsches...

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats what I get for taking pics with an iPhone. All painted at the same time. No issues with color matching.

Only here right now. Suggestions of other places?

POST 20Original post

Did you post it in the Rennlist Vehicle Marketplace?

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not yet. Will do that today.

POST 22Original post

The Excellence Magazine classifieds are also free.

POST 23Original post

I bought mine via an ad on AutoTrader 2000 miles away from me after looking at all kinds of sources including Craigslist, Rennlist, Cars.com etc. You might want to consider those types of sources, it is the easiest way for people to see and compare a whole bunch of cars at once. Not everyone who is looking for a 911 is looking on Rennlist.

POST 24Original post

I found mine in 2006 from an Auto Trader ad. Also, I would place and ad in your local paper(or online listing).

POST 25Original post

found mine advertised on BOTH Craigslist and Autotrader.

POST 27Original post

Found mine on Autotrader too! GLWS - a killer example of the 996, with a better motor!

POST 28Original post

Looks like the consensus is that I should also post my car #891 on other sites. I thought that I would be weeding out the non-serious buyers by posting it only on my local PCA website. I will start with Rennlist today. Thanks.

POST 29Original post

FWIW, I was a VERY SERIOUS buyer and not once did I peek at my local PCA site (or Rennlist, 6speedonline, Renntech). Maybe because I had decided at the outset to focus my search first on LOCAL sellers which is why CL and Autotrader were my default sources. Best of luck selling.

nice to hear it all color matches - i am in the market for a 996 in the mid 20's and many i have seen have poorly painted front bumpers with terrible color match - not sure why people cheap out when having the front bumper painted - i remember shopping 993's years ago with the same issue.

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bump for "Early Spring Shoppers"?!?!?!

POST 34Original post

Good luck with your sale! I remember back when you bought your 40th!

POST 35Original post

Bump! I will be in the market for one of these or a targa by the end of feb. I will pm you then to see if it's still available! Beautiful car!

POST 38Original post

can't believe u couldn't get 35k for that car! don't give it away- m

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hear ya. I did not advertise anywhere but here. Also put ad up at start of winter. Did not expect much of a response.

POST 42Original post

Have you advertised it elswhere yet?, I think the problem with this forum is 98% of readers already have a 996. I hope it moves for you, I have the same car and will probably sell next year, I expect I will trade it in, but was hoping due to the spec there would be some private sale interest to get a few more $$

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Today is the first day that it is being displayed in the classified section. Up on AutoTrader a couple weeks ago. Going to put up on CraigsList tonight.

POST 44Original post

Not sure if you are still asking the same price for the car or not, but I bought one with the exact same options, just a few more miles for a lot less than you are asking, no paint work, and all records for the past few years along with car showing all services from P-car dealer.

POST 45 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could you please send me a PM with more details on the car you purchased?
