Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I am having trouble identifying this line in the PET, can anyone help? This is general overview, taken from the engine bay looking forward at the tunnel: Here are shots of the line in question: Looking directly up at it: Looking at the left side of the tunnel: Any info would be much appreciated!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bump, here it is in the PET (Item 4, 996 201 361 03): Since it goes to the charcoal canister, I have a hard time believing something on the evap system is just open to atmosphere... but can someone verify?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I believe I figured it out- for the record:

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah Krazy, your memory is good! Things are great- I actually just put the engine back in today, still buttoning it all up. I ended up rebuilding the transmission pretty much all the way (bearings, 2nd gear & shift selector, synchros, and spider gears) as the main bearing was pretty much shot, and while I have it apart... you know how it goes. The deepest I got into the engine was replacing the variocam chain pads. I replaced ALL the usual external parts, plus misc other stuff (found the secondary air injection solenoid AND check valve were bad). I am refinishing the wheels (had some curb rash) and getting the steering wheel recovered. I had to take the interior apart to correct the **** poor cheezy paint job the PO did on all the plastic trim. Still to do is install new swaybar droplinks in the front, and tie rod ends. I have lots of pics on my phone- maybe I'll find some time to upload them later this weekend.
