Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd stick with a stock clutch using the dual-mass flywheel.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, looking for opinions and experiences with regard to stock and aftermarket clutchs, I have seen what is available and want to know if aftermarket is better or as good as stock. I drove a TT with what amounted to a racing clutch in it and it was no good for the street, not what I need. let me know what you used and how it has been for you.
Thanks
I'd stick with a stock clutch using the dual-mass flywheel. A stiffer clutch will ruin driveability, and a lightweight flywheel can shake your motor to death.
I replaced my OEM clutch with... an OEM clutch. The only problem I had was slipping once the clutch plate was worn down to the rivets, but I can't really blame that on the clutch...
Thanks, I had planned to keep the stock flywheel, just interested in what others may have done regarding replacement and whether or not they are happy with what they have.
I stuck with stock also. You're unlikely to make enough power that it won't hold (short of turbo/supercharging). My first one lasted 100k miles so I didn't see much reason to change. Some people like the feel of the lightened flywheel, but the noise and potential daily drivability issues kept me away from it.
My OEM disc stil looked in good shape at 57,000 miles but I replaced everything anyway while I was in there. If not abused, the OEM (Sachs) should be good enough.
I just drove my car for the first time with the new clutch. Wow - what a difference! My original lasted for 125,301 miles. The new one feels smooth and light. It's very nice.
Stick with the stock clutch. But also make sure you do a new stock flywheel as well. I cheated last time at 103k miles and didn't do the fly wheel. I'm at 155k now and it's going to need a clutch next year. I can feel it.
I went with stock clutch replacement at 63K miles if I remember. OEM flywheel was fine....got the IMS fix at the same time. 5K miles more had the trans rebuilt due to the 2nd gear pop out. Get the RMS and IMS fix done at the same time....save you some money later.
