Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was driving back home, and a doe and two fawns ran across the road in front of me.
Leading evidence: 'Run across the road in front of me' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). It always blows my mind to see YouTube videos of people street-racing in traffic at or close to 150mph - someone making an unexpected lane change would result in carnage.

Theclutch, I have a pic of my speedo doing the same thing - but I have to admit that I was in the driveway running instrument cluster tests with my Durametric at the time.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I took the 996 out to the desert this AM. The conditions were perfect (70 degrees), about an hour after daybreak, at a disused airfield I won't mention by name because it's probably still a federal offense to drive on it...
After a few warmups, I pushed the 996 up to 150 in 5th - but ran out of nerve and tarmac to short-shift sixth and push higher. It was still awesome - I can't believe how solid the car feels, especially with the 8-degree wing shims, at that speed.
...and now I'm leaking coolant from my water pump, so the car's on jack stands waiting for my new Pelican order to arrive next week.
It was worth it.
yeh In no time at all I took mine up to same speed with the hard top on but hit 6th around 130mph. Solid as a rock at 150, not even a quiver in the steering. Decided not to push it any more (but there was lots left) as I WAS NOT on an airfield haha. No leaks or drips or any change afterwards. Great feeling and the fastest I have ever drove a car.
Very cool! I wish that I could find a similar remote location to give my car a run up to top speed (sorry, won't do it on public roads and take that kind of risk).
I wouldn't do it on the highway either. I was driving back home, and a doe and two fawns ran across the road in front of me. I can't imagine doing 100+ and having 400 pounds of deer come through the glass.
It was going to fail anyway. So yes, well worth it. I had a $1000.00 date once. Took the car on the date that was about 100 miles away, got a nail in the sidewall of my tire while I was there, $300. Put on the spare. With dryrot it lasted 15 miles (another few hundred there) then had to have it towed home 100 miles. 250.00 there... Plus 100$ for dinner and drinks.
This finally gives me the reason to install the low-temp thermostat, new fuel filter, and four or five other parts I need to get around to installing.
Shark: I don't think the ticket for that speed would be $250 - In California, driving that fast on the highway is actually a felony, so definitely not worth trying. I wouldn't anyway - the damage one could inflict on other vehicles is unimaginable at those speeds.
It always blows my mind to see YouTube videos of people street-racing in traffic at or close to 150mph - someone making an unexpected lane change would result in carnage. Documenting yourself doing it...stunningly dumb.
