Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I have searched google and the forums and wonder if I am not calling this part the right thing. Since picking up my car, I have noticed that the convertible top rails do not line up quite right on one side and one sticks out abit. Is this something that is a fix I can do on my own or do I need to take it to a shop? I have attached a circled pic so that you get an idea. Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

Hi Razkal, Not 100% sure but it looks as if it the same issue I had. there is a wire that runs down the side of the roof, Porsche refer to it as a rope. its quite an easy DIY, I replaced it with some similar cable and its been fine ever since. get your roof into its service position check the screw at the bottom of the roof with anchors the wire and see its you can pull it, which will indicate it has snapped. Good luck

POST 3Original post

When its in serviced position it might be worth checking to see that both side rear wires are still in place or at least the passenger side is still attached via the snap on bobble in/under the rear window. The cover would loose tension and maybe twist if one had not been attached or come loose. To get into service position stop the roof half way up/down. feel under the back window each side for the wire which should be attached to a side on bobble affair set into the window sill or body work. The wire snaps on by hand side ways. Hey its just a thought seeing as its only occurring on one side. This maybe the back end of same wire that Jackeralli is referring too. In other words. If it is the same wire, then it may have come loose and not actually snapped.
