Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I need some advices and help if available from you all "996 experts" I did search the archives but did not find any specific on my situation so just wondering if anyone on this board has seen this issue. I got this 2000 996 cab couple of months ago as a 2nd driver, weekend fun car. It has 29k miles so far and before I got the car, PO kindly did the 30k miles inspection for me. Car runs perfect, amazing car... Yesterday, I drove the P-car to work and enjoy the beautiful weather and on the way back home, as I pulled the car into the garage I found a trail of coolant behind, confirmed it's not water from AC. I checked the coolant tank and cap for cracks and leak but saw nothing. With engine off there is no actual active leak on garage floor. The coolant tank is still full huh? Could it be that the coolant tank is too full and some bleed-out to release pressure? Or the tank is cracked and under pressure it leaks? The coolant leak is definitively under the tank. What can I do to diagnose this problem? Anyone input would be greatly appreciate it as I am afraid to drive the car now. The tank may burst out completely. Thanks all in advance... -Bao. ps. Plan to get the car to local dealer if it's still safe to drive...

POST 4Original post

Was the coolant level within the recommended range shown by arrows? Hard to see the yellow coolant, usually need to rock the car. Should not significantly expel if it is in this range and not "full". Did the level drop significantly after the engine cooled? Is there a coolant odor?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
