Usually I run the reservor a little on the low side of the range so when you change pads and push the pistons back you don't make a mess.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my '02 C2 to the track for it's maiden run yesterday. The car ran great. After two or three laps the brake fluid level indicator would come on. The fluid was well within the operating range on the reservor. First, I added fluid to bring it to the max indicator. The light still came on so I filled it as full as I dared. Still came on after a couple of hard laps. Doesn't come on during street driving. A sensor problem? The connector to the sensor is tight. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

You should not fill the reservoir any more than the full mark. The reason for the light to have come on at the track is because the fluid shloched around in the reservoir and at certain points, the sensor got fooled.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have never had this happen on any other Porsche I have had. Usually I run the reservor a little on the low side of the range so when you change pads and push the pistons back you don't make a mess. With this car I now have the reservor full enough that it simply cannot expose the sensor to air. Any one else have this experience?

POST 4Original post

Have participated in 5 DE's in past 6 months and never triggered the brake fluid lite. Did you feel any loss of braking power while tracking at all or did you see any leaks anywhere-maybe a loose sensor somewhere. You may want to have the service check it out just to make sure. Regards. Mike

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Brakes worked fine and nor is there any evidence of leaks. I'm wondering if the sensor or some connection to the sensor is funky, bit it makes little sense that it has only happened on the track and consistantly after only 2 or 3 laps.
