Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

American Car dealers are famous for placing their name on a new car. It is a deal killer for me and a long time ago, I did walk away. In recent years, I have made it abundantly clear to all concerned that any advertising placed on my car would void the deal. So, do Porsche dealers also routinely attempt to place there name on the car?

POST 2Original post

I don't think I've seen a Porsche with a dealer name tag on it. Seems like most dealerships are using the license plate frames to advertise. You're right though, that'll kill the deal for me if they ruin a car with a dealer tag.

POST 3Original post

I've looked at a lot of Porsches recently in the Chicago area and most dealers just put their names on the license plate. I find that irritating enough, and can't imagine what I would do if it went further than that. The next time I upgrade, I'm going to ask the dealer that he give me a blank license plate, without their blatant advertising on the frame of the plate. Regards.

POST 4Original post

When I got my Boxster, I took the plate frame off and walked it back inside and handed it to the salesman. No advertsing!

POST 5Original post

A frame with a dealer name on it would be fine with me. But little decals/yucky chrome names are a big no-no. I've never seen one on a P-car, but I ahve on lots of others. I'd walk too. cheers, Chris

POST 6Original post

I don't like to advertise for car dealers either (unless they pay for it &/or ask me directly & nicely, if then). however, I can appreciate that they want the inventory to advertise for their business while they own it - that doesn't offend me.

POST 7Original post

The license plate thing doesn't bother me but decals do. But never seen any decals on any Porsche cars but seen on others. Regards. Mike
