Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

That's the beauty of Thunderhill - lots of run-off space.

My instructor explained too me that I somehow forgot to use the brakes...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I went to another DE event at Thunderhill at Group C(advanced) and this time around I mounted a harness bar so I could mount a Hi-8 video camera and little did I know I spun out on the 4th session after lunch at Turn 1(musta been the food I ate)and it was all videotaped. I entered the turn too hot and lifted off the throttle(big no no) at the apex and my car spun out 2 times before it came to a complete stop on the grass. With windows open and all all dirt/sand flew right in my car(what a mess) and went into every knook and cranny of my car(looked like I went thru a mild sand storm with windows partially opened). It was hot there(90 plus) so after that I left with my tail behind my legs. I did well prior to the spinout and that 4th session was fun in that I finally tracked against a 993 but spinouts aren't fun and be careful. As they say "Slow In, Fast out". Gotta go back and vacuum my car now. Regards. Mike
Hi Mike, it was good too meet you at the Thuderhill event. Looks like we both took a few soil samples. I did a 360 degree spin after entering 5a way too hot. I ended up most of the way down the hill with my back tires off the track. My instructor explained too me that I somehow forgot to use the brakes... Oh well, that pretty much nixed my chances of moving into the advanced group, although I kept it on the track for the rest of the day and did get approval to move up next time.
All in all a fun day, and as usual, a variety of nice cars to check out
Jim
Mike,
Well sorry to hear about your spin out! But, we are all glad you are OK except for the ego department. Btw, what group are you running?
Also, please post the video or at the very least a picture of your car.
Mike
It's kinda like learning to ski. You fall occasssionally as you progress. As long as you don't hit anything immovable or hurt the car, no big deal (except for the quality time with the vacuum). Plus you know how the car feels just before you lose it.

Talk about lite in the air when I spun out-there's always next time and won't make that kind of mistake again(cross my fingers/toes). Bloke if you email your address-I'll send a dupe of the tape to you and see for yourself(sound is inaudible with wind noise). Don't know how to download such a file onto board as the case with pics on rennlist(computer illiterate). Planning to go again July 27-still a blast but minus the spinout next time : ). Mike
Hey Mike, sorry to hear about your spinout. I think it's all those mods on your car and not the lunch! <grin>
Anyways, if you have the video in computer format, I can host it for you to publish if you want. As log as it's not too big. I think my webserver is getting maxed out!
Let me know
Thanks ROD- I'll see if I can convert to computer format and email to you and you can host for me. I'll try to condense just the last session with the spinout-it was the best track session since I a 993 was in the group. I'm pretty much decided to go with ROW M030 suspension but when I don't know but definitely this year. Regards and thanks for the kind comments everyone. Mike
Turn 1 is definitely harry
Fun, but man oh man, you don't want to early apex (will run out of track). For those of you who don't know Thunderhill, Turn 1 is the first turn after long straight, with average speeds going in at around 90mph
No fooling around here...
Bummer about your spin-out. That's the beauty of Thunderhill - lots of run-off space.
Except, they had a cone style chicane set up before the entry to turn one to slow everyone down. For me, it started out as a 2nd gear chicane, but gradually went to a third gear chicane as more and more cones were knocked into disarray.
I actually think the cones became more of an obstacle then a safety feature as they got spread out across the track.
Jim
Like Jim said several chicane cones were knocked off(prior to going in) so went thru much faster which spelled doom for me but shoulda known better to slow down abit. Regards. Mike
