I installed the harness bar with camera mount for the track- video is good but with windows required to stay open- the wind coming in distorts the sound to the point its inaudible.

We used a small external mic which we taped about 5" from the muffler of my (now sold) Ferrari at Moroso and it came out fine.

For a Carrera, you could use track tape to hold the cable in place.

It's a IOPORT Racing harness(straight) bar connected to the b pillar where front pasenger seat belts hook up to. Used first time and only used for placing the camera mount on for taping my track sessions. Regards. Mike

If your camera has an external Mic jack then attach an external Mic. It should (all I've seen) switch off the built-in Mic. As for external Mics a small lapel Mic with a wind sock on it should minimize the wind noise. If the Mic lead wire is an issue get one of the wireless setups with a lapel Mic.

We used a small external mic which we taped about 5" from the muffler of my (now sold) Ferrari at Moroso and it came out fine. No wind noise. We ran the cable along the car's edge, easy to do in a targa. For a Carrera, you could use track tape to hold the cable in place. Make sure it's not near the rear spoiler which intermittently elevates. For my CD which should be out in 6-8 weeks, we recorded the Ferrari with an AT 4070 condenser mic but that probably isn't feasible at the track.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
