I do love driving my new baby, but I also miss the nice audio stuff I had in my Jag. I started looking at after market audio/nav gear and wanted to hear from others who might have had some components added. Here's what I was thinking, (comments please) Alpine CVA-1003 Head Unit with motorized LCD display Alpine CHA-S634 CD/MP3 Changer Alpine NVE-N852A GPS Nav system JL Audio 300/4 Amp Speakers - haven't settled on anything specfic yet, but probably replace the front dash pairs, rear and add a pair in the door. My C2 has map pockets in the doors, which seem ideal for mounting speakers (I know one of the audio options has speakers here). One audio installer told me that the map pocket doors will probably be a pain. He suggested I look into purchasing the door panels designed for the Porsche speakers. Is there any place to get these ? Or is this a deal item only? TIA

back-n-black, I don't know where you are located but Car Audio Innovations has done "door pocket-to-speaker" conversions which saves as much as $900 from the dealer... so it can be done. <a href="http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/porscheintallations.htm" target="_blank">Car Audio Innovations</a>

back-n-black, A good shop would be able to make the map pockets into a place to mount speakers. It just would not be easy to return to stock. If you had to have the new door panels, you should be able to order them through any of the dealerships or perhaps pick them up used from a place like... <a href="http://www.911pcar.com/" target="_blank">LA Porsche Dismantlers</a> I think you said in an earlier post that you were located in FL. I got my stereo installed at Audio Connection in Ft. Myers, FL [phone removed]). They have done work on several 996's and Boxters. They did excellent work for me and are worth a look if you are in the area.
