Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I finally found a way to clean wax residue off the black bumperettes on the rear of a '99-01 996. I've heard of various paints that cover the black parts and I've tried all sorts of cleaners (WD40 , Dawn etc..) with varying results. This has been driving me insane everytime I wax the car. Yesterday, for the heck of it,I put on some plain petroleum jelly and rubbed it into the plastic real well and amazingly, they look as good as new. Now if it will just last a while, but so far it still looks great. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" /> Doug

POST 2Original post

I just had mine painted body color. Its easy, cheap, good looking. I did it to my 96-993 C4S and also to my current 02-996 C4S. Will try to post pics when I get around to it

POST 3Original post

Hi Flaw, when did you pick up your C4S? I'm waiting for a June build from MCL. What tires did it come with?

POST 4Original post

I've got an even better solution for you. Use a white eraser and erase all the wax marks.. Works amazing, and you aren't adding anything to the plastic that may harm it. Try it, I do it every time I wax my car.
