Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What do the various "N" designation on the Porsche OE tires mean? How are they different from other tires and each other (N1, N2, N3, etc.)?

POST 2Original post

POST 3Original post

Viken and others, correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't want to mix N ratings.

POST 4Original post

Correct - do NOT mix. You should use the same N ratings on all 4 tires.

POST 5Original post

Mixing is not recommended but if you have to, it doesn't hurt. The differences in the different N numbers are so minor that they are not noticeable to us mortals.

POST 6Original post

I read the article that was on the site and the latest updates to the N certification was for the year 2000. Any recommendations on where to get current Porsche ratings for 2002? Thanks! Jim Kuhr
