Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The day was a blast! Tim could not have picked a better winter day to do this DIY Day. Doing the suspension with 3 guys is far easier then by yourself. Everything came off and on with out a hitch. All three of us learned some great tricks to doing this mod. I think we could now do springs on a C2 in about two hours. The cars looked SOOOOO much better lowered although Mike was worried that he would be entering the Baja 5000 while his car was still up in the air. After we put her down a sigh of releif was heard when his car was looking HOT! The day went so well we have our Next meet planned this time we are doing a under carriage detail day. Mike's car was pretty damn clean under the car (So.Cal raised) Tim's car on the other hand took a peice of Buffalo with it when it. My car NEEDS it too so it will be another fun day, I CAN'T WAIT!!! I am so happy to have found to great Pcar enthusiasts I can share my disease with. Tim and Mike have it just as bad as me!!! The two of them have a Years worth of mods planned out and their cars are going to look stunning. Here are some pics throught our day which started at 9AM and concluded around 4PM.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last one what's wrong with this picture?

POST 3Original post

17's? Just kidding, but it looking like somebody was playing with the hydraulics and lef the rear in the "up bounce" position.

POST 4Original post

Dell: Your only 1/2 right Haven't you heard? 17 are the new 19's! Long story short, Mike bought my 18's and I am waiting for my 19's to come in. Thus the 17's went on my car for the time being. We had a great time. Eric is a great guy and the three of us are a terror to DIY projects. Wait till the under car detail day.

POST 6Original post

Looks great guys. How much did you lower and what hardward did you all use? Is it really that easy?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It really was easy a third person does help makes disassembly and reasemmbly go very quick. I would say this is a 6/10 on a DIY scale. I highly recommend getting the experience and doing it yourself. As for the drop Tim or Mike may have that answer to me it was a significant difference.

POST 9Original post

Nice write-up. Thanks for sharing... What type of suspension was dropped into Tim's car?

POST 10Original post

Nice job. Its good to see a 996 rennlister getting down and dirty for a good cause'.

POST 11Original post

Hey Sandoval a little off topic but did you end up selling your wheels?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah they sold for $1200 on ebay.

POST 13Original post

It is a set of Cargraphic springs I bought from Deputy Dog. My car looks kinda lame lowered on the 17's .........for now Hey Eric, lets plan the under car cleaning day soon.

POST 14Original post

that is my next mod...too bad I don't have car freak friends like you!!....By the way what's up with the yellow flag and black beauty on your wall?? Looks very Italian in a German garage?!?!?

POST 15Original post

Hahahaha have had it for years. Have not had the heart to take it down.

POST 16Original post

thanx for sharing, what springs did you decide on?

POST 17Original post

Mine are Cargraphics and Mike's were H&R. Eric said that H&R made them both.

POST 19Original post

do you need a lot of special tools for the install of the H&R's?? I am thinking of doing them myself....let's see if i can find a Ferrari flag on the wall for inspiration.... just kidding.....I am working on making my next car a Ferrari...will keep the 996 cab/trip for my wife...

POST 20Original post

Eric brought his spring compressors. You can rent them at Checker etc. It really is not hard. Having 2 people or even 3 makes the rears easier.
