I also used Intercity last year to transport a 356 that I bought from Atlanta to Long Island.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am going to ship my C4S to south Florida from Boston and need to identify the most reliable carriers. I will probably use an enclosed trailer. Would appreciate any input and/or suggestions from those who have shipped their cars via either open or closed transport.
I would suggest Intercity Lines.

They are in Warren, MA (close by) and have Porsche experience.
I used intercity also..they were great. I would not have any problem using them again! They moved my C4 from AZ to TN. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

I priced this out several years ago and
Exotic Car Transport
in Orlando did a superb job getting my Ferrari from Chicago to Ft Lauderdale. Best rate I could find and I checked out around 6 carriers.
I also used Intercity last year to transport a 356 that I bought from Atlanta to Long Island. Intercity was definetly the cheapest, and the car arrived in good condition (they also handled the final payment to the buyer) but they took their time in picking the car up and dropping it off--it took almost three weeks. You may have the same problem because the Fla.-Boston route is very popular and they may divert their truck to pick up and drop off other cars. Also, they can't guarantee a delivery time and so you may only get a day's notice of when the car is coming. It's best if you can have a dealer or repair shop accept delivery as I did.
I too used Intercity and was pleased completely. They picked up a black 996 and black 540 (both easy to scratch) from in front of my house in Fla and had them in CA a week later in perfect condition. Neither car had even moved places on the truck they were loaded on (IOW, hadn't even been started). Intercity doesn't move your cars around or contract out to other carriers or leave your car(s) in terminal awaiting another truck. They have $150k per car insurance with no deductible. They have the latest in ride technology as well as the latest in Qualcomm wireless tracking. Even if you find a company a little cheaper, one scratch, dent or many rattles from a rough ride later and you'll wish you'd paid whatever Intercity quoted.
I've used several transport services and wasn't even remotely as pleased with the others as I was with Intercity.
