Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

My window didn't work exactly right initially, even though I carefully marked the glass to get it back in exactly the right place.
It was my Thanksgiving break project. Overall, it was pretty easy thanks to the advice and instructions found on this board and on renntech.org. The hardest part was removing the trim and the door panel without leaving any marks on the leather! My window didn't work exactly right initially, even though I carefully marked the glass to get it back in exactly the right place. I had to adjust it, but eventually I got it just right.
Unfortunately, I seem to have lost my radio code. Loren gave me a couple to try, but no dice yet. My radio is now making me "WAIT" for one hour before I can try a code again. If I don't get it, this may be the excuse I've been waiting for to order a new double DIN nav system!
Yeah, it is not too bad. Took me 2 hours following the workshop manual.
I had the glass pretty far out of whack and had to climb in the opposite side to open the door without popping the glass.
I made roughly 2 adjustments and it was adjusted pretty nice.
The radio code can be given to you from the dealer by giving your VIN.
My driver side window doesn't lower (or maybe it does VERY little) when opening or closing, so that's probably a sign of a soon-to-be bad regulator. So far it's working fine as the glass doesn't knick anything, yet seals perfectly.
A very likely DIY project for me in the future. If it took Tippy 2 hours, I'll prepare for at least 4 hours myself.
Once you get the door panel off, it goes fast. I went very cautiously when removing the trim pieces and the door panel to make sure I didn't damage anything. I still managed to break a little plastic clip when removing the cover to the door pull. Fortunately, just one clip didn't matter much.
This job is in my future too - both sides. On the drivers side it seems more like the micro switches rather than the regulator. but while I'm in there I'll probably replace both/all.
There is one that I used - I think I found it on
www.renntech.org
. Sorry I don't have the link - I think you can find it if you search here too. The detailed instructions with photos that I used were actually for a Boxster, but it is pretty similar. There were a few differences in removing the trim pieces that you can figure out as you go. The only thing that I found was an important omission is that if the window is all the way down, then you can't get the Bose speaker box out of the door. It is probably a good idea to partially raise the window for removal, and then lower it right at the end before you disconnect the battery.
One quick tip that I may be able to contribute to this thread.
When removing the panel pieces, i ran over to home depot and picked up some plastic spatulas in different sizes. They are about 50 cents a pieces but helps out in not scratching the panels or ripping the leather.
There was one instance (removing AIRBAG logo) which i used a small watch repair flat head screw driver. I used electrical tape around the tip to protect it from scratching the logo.
