This is not a probability of success.

I debated for over a year, so wish I had done this earlier...had to wait until the wife got over the last 10k repair bill...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Soooo after much researching, asking, debating and begging (see wife) I finally got some KW V3 coilovers put in the car and all I can say is a resounding WOW! I have them on for only 3 days now and with winter tires but even now the car handles much better. turn in feels sharper, grip is much much better and ride quality is great. the car (2003 C4S) is set at X73 ride height/alignment settings which is the height limit of the V3s. Will probably look to go a little lower come summer. The car is set at about 66% soft for compression and rebound, if anyone is interested I can get all the nunbers and post them. All I can say is that if you were like me, debating about what to do, just get the V3s. I found a great deal on Ebay and they ended up being just a wee bit more than the PSS10. Being a skier i can't believe i'm actually looking fwd to summer and seeing how the car really handles If anyone wants/needs stock C4S springs or bilstein sport dampers let me know. will update the ride quality as i put more miles on them.

POST 2Original post

For daily driving, is is much stiffer/harsh than stock?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As for me nope, and I have a terrible back (broke 3 vertebrae at 16). I asked the shop to set it up like a stock 997S. They put them in with the settings from KW and was pretty stiff vs. the ride of the 997 so they softened them up. Couldn't be more pleased. I debated for over a year, so wish I had done this earlier...had to wait until the wife got over the last 10k repair bill...

POST 4Original post

Good for you Aspen. Looking forward to catch a ride in spring..... I'm yet to announce my exhaust upgrade to my wife That's Cargraphic high flow cats and muffies. Looks like 996 forum is more fun for some reason?

POST 5Original post

Sounds like a great upgrade! I'm debating the various options for my C4S now...

POST 7Original post

great news, out of interest how many miles did your shock have. I have an 04 with 42k on and thinking how much difference would I feel

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

car had 60K miles on it. i replaced the OEM C4S shocks at 55K miles as the front passenger one went on me with bilstein sport (not HD) and kept the stock springs. Ride was horrible! now with the KWV3s it is night and day! even going over railroad crossings is fun for anyone debating on these coils, just get them! i cannot be happier. next just need to convince my banker to go from 3.6 to 3.8...AWD GT3 in the making
