Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

41 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll start. My wonderful wife conspired with my independent shop to source and install a new dash cup holder to replace the unit that was broken and would not deploy. While this may seem trivial, consider that the fairly ridiculous expense was such that I have refused to fix it for several years. Consider also that i pretty much fix everything immediately. Finally, there was apparently only one new one in the US parts system. Now on to the Fister Ds with a little Christmas cash. What did your car get?

POST 2Original post

Mine got a few roundabout gifts; a new torque wrench, a new set of Rhino Ramps, and chocks. Going to order some motor mounts and get those in very soon. +1 on the Fister's, you won't regret them, they are fantastic! Merry Christmas, DS

POST 3Original post

Mine got a B&M short shift kit, mini air compressor for the track and a 50' retractable air hose for her garage. Considering an iPad mini install with Christmas cash. Merry Christmas to all!

POST 15Original post

Battery tender (for when I'm gone long periods on business) and a T-20 Torx "screwdriver". And... a flatbed ride to the service department to get the whole ignition assembly replaced. After several weeks where the key has been increasingly difficult to remove, the key no longer turns at all as of Christmas Eve day. Swapping out the switch inside the dash (the fix that "usually" works) didn't solve the problem. After spending 2 hours upside-down in the driver's footwell, skinning a few knuckles, and getting no joy from my own attempts at solving the problem, I quit At least the local dealer has the upgraded assemblies in stock, and I'll have the car back by the weekend so that I can enjoy some quality time behind the wheel.

I like to fix all broken parts immediately too, but as I opined earlier, those cup holders are diabolical. Don't put coffee in them.

POST 35Original post

Quotes source post: 10101778

Lol, actually does look like it. Considering it's a set of Tubi mufflers, I think I'll let Tubi know that they should consider redesigning the look if people are expected to pay over $2k on a set of "steel drums".

I'll be posting one in the spring. However it will be with intake, headers and x pipe so might not be exactly representative of what you're looking for. I'm really hoping the sound will be worth the price of admission though. The weight isn't as light as I thought though as an initial impression.

POST 40 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Late edition... A 'new' sunroof motor. Found on fleabay for $50. Perhaps a bit of a gamble, but compared to $300+ I took it. Interesting that a 997 part number has superseded the original 996 part. Porsche's quiet admission that they got something wrong...

POST 41Original post

Mine was driven on back roads, then put away with a fresh tank of fuel until the next opportunity.
