Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Last night I bent a rim sliding into a curb Can any body tell me what these are called I think they came off a 997 Its a rear 18" x 10, Thanks

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, just found one on e-bay hopefully should have it tomorrow

POST 4Original post

Uh oh, didn't end up being no damage after all? I was a bit surprised when you said that originally; never have seen a curb contact that didn't cost couple hundred bucks.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah it was dark last night but the rim is cracked it was a pretty hard hit but convined myself that most the noise was the roll bars deploying lol Fortunately I don't think theres any further damage. Are there any weak links in the suspnesion which I should examine closely seems to drive straight no issues.

POST 6Original post

I'd definitely take the car to a Porsche mechanic for a thorough inspection of the suspension, just to make sure everything is okay.

POST 7Original post

+1 If you hit hard enough to break the rim and to deploy the roll bars, there is most likely ancillary damage and the car wil be out of alignment. Please get it checked thoroughly.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good advise I pull the wheel later today or possible tomorrow when I have the new rim and check it out then.

POST 9Original post

Width of the wheel is cast on by the valve stem. Appears to be a single digit, maybe 9". It looks like a early Cayman wheel.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes they are 9" I pulled the wheel had a pretty good look and don't see any obvious damage but I'll have the alingment checked out soon. It was a combination of not paying full attention and a very slick piece of ice all 4 tires are nearly new Pirelli Sotto Zero W240's possibly not my first choice but they came as very good deal with the rims!

So a 944 guy driving a 996 in the snow!! Got it!!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah 996 is 4 wheel drive besides some nice fellow totaled the 944 so I'll be looking for a replacement next year.

POST 14Original post

Great to see that you have it out in the snow. I know of a set of fresh winter wheel/tires in GR for 996/997 available if you're not happy with the set you're running.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey white out PM me with details I might be interested

POST 16Original post

Andys-944 I can understand. I have a, '88 944 Turbo (68k) and 996 in the garage. The 996 is not 4-wheel though. Both are fun to drive in their own unique way.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The 944 is great fun car to drive so well balanced and forgiving of even crass heavy handedness.
