Thought the winter would be a good time to replace all of the fluids.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I appreciate all of the information on this site! I purchased an 03 996 Cabrio a couple of weeks ago and have found all the information here helpful. I owned a 97 boxster a couple of years ago so I am familiar with Porsche but not the 911 specifically. So far I have been able to remove the rear console and horse shoe and paint them with tips from the site. I ordered a new coolant res. cap. Also installed some carbon fiber trim to spruce up the interior. I was a little taken back by all of the XXX posts but remember the issue with the boxster as well. I went to a Porsche dealer to talk to them about upcoming maintenance as the car is getting ready to turn 50K. Has new tires, brakes, and rotors but they said they would assess clutch. I plan to do RMS, IMS, clutch, AOS, and plugs in the spring / summer. Starting to get snow here so it has been a good time to clean and familiarize myself with the car. Thought the winter would be a good time to replace all of the fluids. Just wanted to thank all of you for the information.
Thank you! I will dig around for links. I found separate ones for removal of both pieces. Used dupli color paint and clear coat which was mentioned in one of them. The rubberized paint is the problem. It was on the ash tray and e brake trim. The reason I painted the console was because the dealer tried to touch up scratches and the ash tray and ebrake trim bubbled. It was a pain to remove. A lot of sanding. I cheated with the ash tray and covered most of it in carbon fiber. The horse shoe and main console took the paint really well. Several light layers as mentioned.
