Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

I'm sure any decent body shop can sort it out, get it fixed correctly.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, Whilst my wife and I were having heated words in the car yesterday I lost concentration and scrapped my car over a curb in the car park! it dented and scratched the sill at the bottom of the car. This part is metal so Im guessing its spot welded in place. is it easier to just cover it with a GT3 aero sill cover or get it repaired Thanks all Jack

POST 4Original post

nothing in life that is worth a **** is easy bailing on the wife is not an option - till death do you part....so figure out how to live with your commitment, jump in both feet for the long haul - there are no reasons to have arguments after you get that sorted out in your head and post pics of the car before we get into a heated argument here and dont blame the wife (you steered the car......the driver is always the one in control) (not saying you are having issues, and not saying you are mad at her for your driving over a curb - just saying)

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was totally my fault and nothing to do with the wife, long day / sick child / late for an appointment, life’s usual obstacles. I was travelling at about 3mph at the time but just didn’t see the elongated curb in the car park! Yes pics will be a massive help, I’ll put them on as soon as I get back from work. Thanks Guys Jack

Please keep the marrige theories to yourself and stick with only the technical stuff.

this was in response to the post above it who "went there" so bugger off

POST 10Original post

looks worse than it probably is. I would have a body shop that specializes in Porsche cars look at it and give you an idea of what it would take to repair (the car)

POST 11Original post

My car had similar damage to the rocker - they'll weld sticks to the spots to pull it out and then smooth it out. The one problem is, thought, that you'll have to have the entire quarter panel painted.

POST 12Original post

Uhhhhmmm......sure as hell that post read as a joke but then you are the one that "went there", and then some.

POST 13Original post

That damage is common and any good shop can fix it with spot welding studs and pulling out most of the dent. They might even be able to blend the area in and not paint the entire quarter panel. You want to keep the new paint area go a minimum. Over time the new paint will age differently than the rest and it will eventually start to show

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your replies. Is it lazy of me to leave it and cover them up with some gt3 side sills as I was planning on putting an aero kit on at some point?

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 10026341

Honestly so long you seal up the raw metal, it's probably the better idea. Painting the whole quarter panel for dents like that is a bit excessive.

this is why I posted all that jibberish and I dint think the OP really cares about what I think about life, pickles or easter bunnies..... I said it in response to this post - as in "someone suggested a divorce" that isnt how I roll - at all....it's not an option you however have an option not to read my posts if you think I am being Dr Phil too much - I can also show you to the "ignore" button and nothing I write will appear on your computer sorry OP - I meant nothing more than a counter point to the suggestion I quoted here and wasnt even talking to you but rather to the person who wrote it - rather as a joke or in some seriousness (I assume it was tongue and cheek) xoxoxox

POST 17Original post

If you get side skirt (GT3 or other) as stated...this needs painting

POST 18Original post

If you were thinking about new rocker panels anyway, then why not cover the damage as long as it isn't raw metal, then you may want to protect it from rust.

Can you show me how to do this? j/k Without your colorful wisdom and comments, this would be a boring site. I have Renntech for all the technical no-bs posts.

POST 20Original post

LOL - I swear I never mean to offend or be too judgemental - it's just filler and keeps some threads active while the OP's are looking for answers - I do talk a tad too much.........and type even more
