Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

99 996 has lost its power steering. There is plenty of nice clean fluid, and the belt is still intact. Any other experience with a sudden loss of power assist?

POST 2Original post

Actually, yes. It wasn't on a Porsche though. It was far from it. If you're still interested I can tell you what happened. Sincerely,

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ian: Sure let's hear what happened. Paul: What would the water pump have to do with the steering?? Or is that just a joke that has gone over my thick skull???

POST 5Original post

If the water pump stops or seizes, the power steering will stop functioning too. Check out your owner's manual for info.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, no overheating so far, but I will check that out, Thank You.
