I have had to use insurance before for a comprehensive claim a couple times and dealing without a rental car or having to pay a deductible sucks so I choose maximum coverage so if something ever does happen, I wont have to worry about it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have to voice this. I have no reason too other than to help my fellow Porsche friends. Its a long story but the insurance company I had since I was 16 years old cancelled me for a non-payment and failed to inform me, and I was driving with out insurance for 3-4 months. When I called to purchase rental insurance the agent informed me the policy was cancelled a few months ago. They also refused to re-instate at the same rate of 2500.00 a year for 2 units. They wanted to re-instate for 4500.00 a year. So this forced me to scramble to get covered. What sucked was this Nationwide company had me since I was 16, good driving record and a good payment history. They dumped me... for a mistake that was made because I had moved, somethings got messed up and I simply clicked the wrong date to pay them on my bank on line billing. Anyway. I ended up changed to Erie Insurance. Both Cars, More coverage, full tort for 1300 a year! Here is what they also do. I have to agree to limit my driving of the car during winter months. # months of the year. The car is still 100% covered. I picked Dec-March. I will pass my agents name to anyone that would like a quote. This saved me over 1/2 my premium and Erie is an actual Ins company not a re-seller. They didnt bulk at all at the 911 like most other companies did... I have no affiation, no other reason to pass this info on other than I know how hard ins companoes can be on the 911.

POST 2Original post

Wow is PA a no-faul state? I'm paying $47/mo here in IL.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats about what im paying per car now

POST 4Original post

My insurance for the Porsches isn't too bad with MetLife Auto. It's the two Subarus that my teenagers drive that really cost me...

POST 5Original post

MetLife for me also with decent rates and no issues.

POST 6Original post

I've got Erie and live in Pa also. Had about ten years now rates have been stable and I have a local agent, which I like the convenience of. Was surprised they onle bumped me $99 when went from a jeep wrangler to the 911 as my DD.

POST 8Original post

145 month icbc...full 40% discount road star plus gets me that awesome rate

POST 9Original post

Insurance companies track which cars have the highest and lowest injury rates, and have found (no surprise) that injury rates are much higher in small cars. The best car, though, with the lowest injury rate per car? Porsche 911. It really helps keep our insurance rates low. http://news.consumerreports.org/cars...ge-claims.html Also worth nothing is the top 10 worst insurance companies have a horrific track record of selling cheap (often not-so-cheap) insurance and then denying payments for all sorts of fine-print excuses. So, deal with them at your own peril. http://www.justice.org/docs/TenWorst...eCompanies.pdf Top 10 worst car insurance companies: 1. Allstate "The Worst Insurance Company in America" 2. Unum 3. AIG 4. State Farm 5. Conseco 6. WellPoint 7. Farmers 8. UnitedHealth 9. Torchmark 10. Liberty Mutual FWIW, I'm paying $69/month to GEICO for my Porsche. They've not raised my rate despite many tickets and my wife's annoying tendency to back into other cars while pulling out of driveways. Erie's supposed to be one of the best.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Geico wouldnt even talk to me and stopped the interview and quote process as soon as I told them the VIN

POST 11Original post

If you want real protection from loss, I suggest an Agreed Value Policy. While there are several who offer this coverage, I just switched to coverage through Leland West. They know Porsche's and Porsche drivers. They were the only insurance company / broker at the Porsche Parade - and they uniquely fit my usage with part time driving to work in my "Exotic" & "Classic" automobiles. I insured two Porsche's for less than the cost I had prior with USAA with better coverages, and ... the piece of mind that should a Total Loss happen I will be able to replace my Porsche.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nationwide allowed me a stated value and customization add on-s but lets think.... I had nationwide for 36 months with the car at paying 1200 more a year... so thats 4300.00 I paid them that I will not be paying erie.... I dont think I have 500$ in customization and it they are off more than 4000$ on the replacment cost, Ill get a lawyer and a new ins company.

POST 14Original post

Im paying $240 with allied for my 911 and my chevy 2500 then again im only 22 yrs of age so i consider that pretty cheap. I got the full coverage and all bells and whistles.

I switched to GEICO and pay $72/mo for the 40th AE and my wife's 2011 CRV (who also seems to not use the fancy rear view camera she had to have.) That was about 1/2 what continuing with Farmers would have been out here (after the move to CO).

POST 16Original post

Ouch my *** hurts after hearing these quotes I am 25 years old, no accidents, no speeding tickets. I get three discounts, one for multiple cars, one for multiple policies (aka my house and a little life) and being a student. With all discounts my P-car is still $2300/ year for 2 mil liability, collision and comprehensive with $0 deductible, rental car policy and accident forgiveness. With my fiance on the other two vehicles, the porsche is actually the cheap one since she is only 20, has 1 accident and a couple tickets. Between 4 vehicles, house, life, and a few other toys my insurance company sends me a bill for just over $15k

POST 17Original post

I have also had bad experiences with Nationwide. I ended up switching to Progessive with my SC and GT3, as well as 3 boats. No claims but excellent rates. You need to be careful with exotic insurers with low rates...the restrictions can be unacceptable. Read the fine print.

POST 18Original post

$1582/year for full coverage on the Porsche, BMW, and Miata through Progressive. That's with a couple of speeding tickets on my record and a minor accident on my SO's record.

POST 19Original post

Wow. I wont complain then. Just the Porsche is $540 per year. Full coverage. Jordan you may want to consider adjusting your Porsche coverage details.

I used to have very minimal coverage thinking that I wouldnt drive it in severe conditions, but in the end I realized I enjoy driving it, and I put more km's on it than my G37, Edge, or Tundra. I also thought the day I don't have maximum coverage is the day I will have to use it. I have had to use insurance before for a comprehensive claim a couple times and dealing without a rental car or having to pay a deductible sucks so I choose maximum coverage so if something ever does happen, I wont have to worry about it. Also in general Canadian Insurance rates are a fair bit higher than the US

POST 21Original post

I use Westfield - 7 cars - 2 of them 996's - one 23 year old driver. $3400 per year. Great company to deal with. Never a hassle with a claim, so far the claims were for comprehensive only so no rate increases based upon that. Looking forward to kicking the 23 year old to "grown up and pay your own freight" status in the near future. Comparing to my 20 year old who as an under age possession of alcohol record - he's on his own for insurance with Progressive. With collission he pays over $4,200 per year - costly lesson, one I hope he will remember for a long time to come. Yep - I pay for the 23 yer old with a clean record - I don't pay for stupidity - unless of course it's my own.

I like this idea and will probably do the same with my kid when the time comes (still a long ways away) I think rewarding them for their good behavior is an excellent idea if you can afford it, but the reward has to be deserved. I was on my own for buying cars, paying for insurance, paying for cellphones, paying for braces etc. even though my parents could more than afford it. That being said I was a less than exemplary child growing up so even if they did it as a reward, chances are I would have never gotten anything.
