Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Iv had the car 2-3 years and its had this leak since I had it.. More of a seep. I thought it was the Oil sender but it isnt. (after buying a sender. digging in and seeing my sending is dry) so many hoses and other things in the way I just can see the seep. it is on the passenger side rear corner of the engine. Its comeing from pretty high on the engine. And I mean right on the corner... So technically its on the front of the engine Right corner... Any thoughts? Valve cover maybe?

POST 2Original post

dye in the oil to help you locate/identify the source??

Not sure how many of those hoses you see carry oil or even oil vapor. A bad AOS hose or something connected to the AOS can leak and let oil leak onto the engine but often (but not always) anything AOS related has the engine acting up some, if only at idle. Also, consider the oil filler tube, but like with the AOS this would have the engine acting up from an intake air leak. Spark plug tubes are often leaky. My vote would be on the camshaft cover. If you are up for it, clean/degrease that area and then drive the car some. Get the car back in the air and the source of the leak I think can be narrowed down.
