Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This morning when leaving Cars & Croissant my ignition switch became hard to turn... hard to get the key out.Than I noticed my AC blower and wipers were not work, Would I be correct in assuming it's all switch related
I just need this part correct?
Thanks!
Here is where I got mine. Ironically they have several listings for the same part at different prices as you will see. There are probably 20 other eBay listing for this part. I like Suncoast, but it is really the same part.

Maybe 1/2 hour to replace.
I don't mind paying extra cause I know sunset will ship Monday and I will have it Tuesday.
Not my daily driver but I still like it back in action asap!
Plus I ordered some clear side markers for the Cayenne... hate that amber
Marc,
Did the switch feel loose before it went or it just goes without warning?
The ebay parts are located in New York. Hmm Maybe I should buy one just to have around.
Marc - when that happened to me I sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on my key and was able to get the A/C and wipers working again. So just in case you need to drive the car again before you replace the part that might help you.
Another thread had NAPA AIM4A0905849B 1997 Audi A8 as same switch for<$20 in case someone needs one quicker then mail delivery. Marc I have a spare if you need it sooner
mark, they will still work, after you start the car, just wiggle the key back to the left a little & they should come on, your car will still be running as long as you don't turn the key back too far. mine has done the same thing & i still haven't replaced it yet, but i think it's time to, on renntech it also shows you how to install it step by step.
I've still got a new switch in the box, new wiper blades, new belt, new MAF, 6 new plugs, air filter and a bunch of other spares for my gone 996. Doubtful I'll need them for my wife's '99 Boxster, it just turned 24k miles. She never drives it and tells me to get my own when I ask to drive hers.
So -- would the ignition switch benefit from a yearly spray of lubricant?...or would that just gum up the works?
If so, what kind seems best? (WD-40 is mostly perfume and parafin).
does the $30 part have any moving parts to lube? (sorry never seen one)
if so... is it plastic? hard to find something that works between plastic and the contacts (which I would guess are brass/copper?) and meatl (like spring and ?? whatever else)
