Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The original owner of my car kept the soft top folded and installed hard top during the winters, he did this for 11 years before I bought the car from him, there is nothing wrong with the plastic real window, so I did the same last winter and will be doing the same this winter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, just had a quick question on storing my '99 cab. Should I put the hard top on or leave the soft top up. I'm putting her in a heated storage place for a bout 5 months. Just wondering if it's bad to have the top down for that long. Also wanted to say thanks to the forum for all of the posts and comments. My first summer and I put on 10k miles...it's been a blast. It's going to be a long winter without being able to drive her!! Thanks Zenski

POST 2Original post

leave the soft top up, makes you're concern about "creases" from long term storage moot-and-academic

POST 8Original post

Put the hard top on and drive it! That being said, if I were leaving in a garage all winter, I'd leave the soft top up and sell the hard top.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Living in Wisconsin and the amount of salt that we use... I just couldn't put her thru that. I have the hard top on and I'm enjoying it until I put it away. Plus the bimmer wagon has a seat heaters and a steering wheel heater. Way to nice in this environment.
