Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

However that still doesn't change the fact that they don't offer any advantage, lighting wise, over other HID type bulbs.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

I bet it's just really easy to yank them out on panameras; any car with xenons will have one of the two phillips DS-* bulbs widely used and ballast are essentially identical from car to car.

POST 3Original post

Yet another "urban legend". No pot grower would settle for measly 35W HID bulbs plus have the voltage down converting problem to address.

The Panamera uses the D1S bulbs where the igniter is directly attached to the bulb. These are only on select few cars due to cost. However that still doesn't change the fact that they don't offer any advantage, lighting wise, over other HID type bulbs. Not sure why the thieves wouldn't just buy the $35 HID kits you see everywhere. You don't even have to sell a nickel bag...

I actually sold a spare set up off my old range rover (D1s with igniter attached to the base and ballast hanging about 5cm from it) for ~$50 on ebay... not exactly huge money. Those headlights are being stolen most likely because the tabs are either replaceable or can the whole thing can be removed w/o breaking it.
