Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I finally scratched the itch to get my 911 out of winter storage. The weather has been and is expected to be extremely nice here in Chicago (anyone would think it was June but there are no leaves on the trees!!). There was not much to do to get the car started. Just uncover, put tire pressure back to specs, key in the ignition and start her up!!! But not so easy. Having had the car less than a year and not being used to it, I tried to insert the key somewhere on the right side of the steering wheel!! Then once I figured the ignition was on the left, I tried to start the car. Nothing!! So being the dope I was, I figured out I had to depress the clutch!! Well, once I got over this, then it was all good!! (I also remembered to move my insurance back to regular coverage) Also, just hit 70K and my 7 year old says to me "Dad, turn off the radio, I like to hear the sound of the engine" That just made my day!!! Here's the before: After: My 70K memory: Happy Kid (He hugged the car when the cover came off!!!) And topless:

Looks nice, and your son knows what he likes. Great to uncover and drive your Porsche again. I drove back from the white mtns today in my Porsche and loved every minute of my drive.

POST 4Original post

Looks great - enjoy. I still that new car feeling (don't think it will ever go away) from my 01 cab purchase 3 months ago. Forest Green / Savanna Beige, 52k. New to forums, and honestly a bit challenged, so I haven't posted photos - coming soon. Also just cleaned and wateproofed my cab top since it was soaking up water when I washed it. The cleaner and protectant worked great!!

POST 5Original post

Congratulations! It is great to have them back on the road again. Mine with for her first cruise of the season yesterday. Enjoy the mile and, BTW: she looks great!

POST 8Original post

For the fabric top I ordered 'Raggtopp' brand cleaner and RaggTopp Protectant off the internet. (total $35) The cleaner is a pump spray bottle and the protector is an aerosol spray can. The process was: 1) Get the top completely wet and rinse off loose particles. 2) Spray on the cleaner and the directions say to use a terry cloth, soft brush or sponge. I actually found a rectangular sponge with a plastic handle at the auto supply that was made to spread tire shine. it was only a $1 - worked great. Spray and scrub softly - repeat. My top was not really dirty and is black, so the cleaning part went pretty quick. 3) Then the top has to completely dry before applying the Protectant. I left the car in the garage until the next day. 4) Now, since the directions said the "immediately wipe off any overspray off of glass, paint etc... I masked off the entire car using blue painters tape ($4) and 1 roll of 10' x 20' of 1mm thick plastic drop cloth ($3.50). The masking of the glass, body, rear window and EVERYTHING that wasn't canvas top took me several hours - not really rushing, just enjoying tinkering with my car. 5) Now it was time to remove any small bits of lint, dust etc... Recently I want to the auto show and bought a sticky roller that you can wash off with warm water. They advertise them on TV to use on everything from pet hair on clothes to upholstery etc. This thing works great! I use it weekly for that clean look. Anyway, rolled the top. 6) Time to Protect. Sprayed 18" to 24" from the top in sweeping motion. The directions said to let dry 15 minutes between coats - I waited an hour. Ended up applying 4 coats. Finished it late yesterday and it looks great. Tip - don't touch it after you spray it - just let it dry. Overall, it was a fun job with great results. Earlier today i went ahead and polished the rear window to complete the project. I have a great pic of the masked car I just need to figure out how to attach. J

Took my Blizzak's off last friday and replaced with PS2's. I've had a smile on my face for a week straight! Needless to say, I've been doing quite a bit of spirited driving.
