Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://www.audioimages.co.uk/install...sche-996/3.jpg To get the AC controls above the cubby? Or is there another bezel or? I got the Euro Speed Double Din kit, and would prefer the AC controls were above the cubby...

POST 2Original post

There's a bezel that you can buy for the lower cubby - I'm not sure about the upper one. The proper location for the climate controls is actually in the lower position, leaving a cubby above it. The installation in the photo is actually very poorly done. The bezel around the head unit looks like crap and has large gaps, and the "custom" bezel around the climate controls looks like crap. If you buy the Porsche lower bezel, it's very easy to move the climate controls. The wires are already long enough, and the mounting points already exist. You can then buy a Porsche cubby for the top position, and it will look very nice.

POST 3Original post

There is no proper bezel for that location, just the lower one as Dennis said. Costs under 10 bucks.

POST 4Original post

The problem with that install is they used "precession" instead of "precision". Never perform work on a 996 when your are rotating under torque-induced forces
