Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I checked the bolts and they are tight so I'm still not sure what the culprit is.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have been leaking a little oil recently. Seems to leak when hot, then stops after engine cools. Coming from just above passenger side header, looks like valve or cam covers from one pic, and also coming from the tranny/front side of engine at some kind of black sending unit. Just had indy shop do AOS, maybe they caused something. What side of engine is AOS on?

POST 2Original post

AOS is on the drivers side of the engine up on the top at the front. Hard to see from the pics what side this is coming from.

POST 3Original post

Take it back to your Indy. The sending unit (oil sending unit?) looks like the culprit.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the sending unit is on the front/tranny side, and the picture of the leaks near the exhaust manifold are on the passenger side. The leaks don't appear to be coming from anywhere higher up, so it looks like it's near the cam/rocker covers to me. I checked the bolts and they are tight so I'm still not sure what the culprit is.

POST 5Original post

Could be cam cover, AOS bad and leaking out of the vent above 4/5 cyl, spark plug tubes, vario cam connector, the list goes on. Need to clean the area well and recheck later.

POST 6Original post

Oil pressure sending unit. Common leak point, passenger side rear of engine (towards front of car).
