Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

28 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well....It is a close cousin. As some of you know, I have been looking for a replacement to my 2001 VW Jetta. The short list came down to a 2006 Cayenne Titanium or 2006 E55. In the back of my mind, I wanted something a bit more unique and always wanted a diesel. A VW Touareg V10 TDI became available only a couple hours from my home. I have heard nothing but good things about this setup. A diesel has been on my short list for a long time, but the V10's are not all that common. The deposit was placed last week. Just waiting for the seller to get the title in hand. Then I can go pick it up. Hopefully the deal closes. I will post pictures when I get it back to my house. 2006 VW Touareg V10 TDI Silver/Black 34k miles Factory warranty until 12/10 - already priced out VW Real Driver Ext Warranty -Ryan

POST 8Original post

That is a sweet ride. It would be on my short list of SUVs only if it seats 7 comfortably. That truck can haul serious cargo and will be good for 300K+ miles if maintained correctly..

POST 9Original post

Those are great. A good friend of mine has a white one and I gave him notice when he bought it that I want it next! They came very well loaded. Around $70K new.

POST 10Original post

I drove one a few years back...it pulled like a frieght train on the hywy. Nice ride, enjoy!

Do you have trouble reading the screen or what?

POST 12Original post

Hmm... tough choice... the Porsche carries the name... but the VW Touareg V10 TDI is certainly a good one.

Given the choice, Touareg with the V10 for sure!

things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

POST 16Original post

Diesel engines are only available with a VW badge. Gasoline V8s are reserved for Peppers.

POST 17Original post

Awesome, I was wondering if you had a VW product, why not a new TDI Golf or Jetta. So the V10 TDI is awesome. Now go chip it, ha. There are a couple wild videos of those things in Germany, modded and melting their tires, pretty amazing all that torque. Post up a few pics later....

I know where another Diesel is for sale...Anyone interested?

POST 20Original post

Rare setup for the US. I don't think VW does the V10 TDI anymore stateside. -Manil

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Correct. They no longer offer the V8 nor the V10. In Europe you can get a W12. USA only gets V6, V6 TDI, & Hybrid. I do not have pics yet, as I just got it home. Needs a wash first. Here is a link to the sellers info: http://209.190.111.111/Ebay/Auto/T-reg/TDi.htm

Very nice! congrats!. I like my Cayenne S but somthing about that V10!! sweet!

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The vehicle came with a clear bra. Does not look like the greatest job. Lots of black build up near the edges. Some of the edges are not perfect. Looks to be peeling in some areas as well. I took time tonight to clean the edges real good with a micro cloth and detail spray. It seemed to really help. Not sure what to do. Should I remove all of the film. Have it professionally replaced? For example, one mirror has film. The other does not. One headlamp washer has film, the other does not. I wonder if it has been peeling for quite some time.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While I do not anticipate it happening for quite a few years, I can replace the 996. Maybe 997TT? P.S. - Don't let my wife see this post. =-)

Just got my new plates in the mail.

POST 28Original post

Enjoy your new ride, looks like you got a nice one. I've had mine since new and 3+ years later it still puts a smile on my face everytime I mash the gas, er, diesel pedal. I came close to pulling the trigger on a new '06 Cayenne Titanium S but bought the Treg TDI instead. I love the pulling power of the V10 diesel. Makes a great back up track car as well. Cheers, Mike
