Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been reading on the site for months and just picked up my first 996 last weekend. Flew to Nashville with my 9 year old son and drove back to Minneapolis. What a great trip! After months of searching I found this 2003, one owner car with 23K miles. Full documentation, perfect PPI and in impecable condition. Paid $32K. BTW, I've already installed clear side markers since this picture! Check it out.

POST 2Original post

Welcome, Nice purchase. Very nice price as well! Congrats!

POST 4Original post

Nice car, i'm sure it was a fun ride for you and your son. Welcome

POST 6Original post

Nice. I bet your son will remember this forever!

POST 8Original post

Nice! The interior looks immaculate. Congrats.

POST 9Original post

Welcome, nice looking Porsche and good story. Bet your son hasn't stopped talking about the trip to his friends.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's been a great first week! I have my work cut out for me on the exterior as the dealership detailer decided to wax every crack and black piece of molding The interior however is just amazing for a 9 year old car. I look forward to many years with this one and hopefully can keep the mod fever from becoming an epidemic.

POST 12Original post

Great looking car! Great looking Seal Gray Metallic colour. Great price. Congratulations. Don't know what exactly gives you utility, but try and hold off on any mods for a bit an get to know your car first. See how it drives, and in the next few months you might also get a clearer picture of whether the car needs any further investment aside from mods. My 2 cents. Congratulations again. Looks beautiful.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My list is short for now, as I definately want to get a feel for the car and the service. But there are a few must dos on the list. Clear markers - done Denison interface for my iPhone T96 steering wheel 997 shifter Fister d exhaust Just the basics - to start

POST 14Original post

Could be a electric shaver to look fresh for all the chicks Nice car and have fun with it.

POST 16Original post

Congratulations, beautiful car, but I must admit to being biased, on night about 3 years ago the Porsche fairy left on just like it in my garage!! great mod list... I'll give you a month before H&R springs get added to it

I've been a V1 user for years and wouldn't leave home without it. No incidents on this trip.

POST 18Original post

Welcome Scats! Beautiful car, very clean. As a father of two boys (9 and 11) who love riding in my P-Car, I know the feeling of having children appreciate just how special it is. It will bring many bonding opportunities for you two.

POST 19Original post

Welcome, Congrats on a choice that works for you and is a beautiful example. I know there will be many miles and smiles. Enjoy!

POST 20Original post

Looking good , great price for that mileage and condition.

POST 21Original post

Nice work Scats. Looks like a very good selection. It's funny how these cars will melt the years off once in a while. I am a normally sedate and responsible motorist, but I took my Carrera to the Baltimore GT last year, and after witnessing the Falken 911 pull out a close Rolex GT win over the Corvette and BMW Teams, I suddenly found myself drag racing Mustangs and such away from the tolls booths on I-95 on the way back home. Spooky. Have Fun!

POST 23Original post

Great way to start pcar ownership. Congratulations and welcome!

POST 24Original post

I'd also invest in ins guardian and/or magnetic drain plug ...with such low miles ims risk could be higher? Cheap insurance for such a nice car ....

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 9432496

Definitely a magnetic plug in my future. Getting ready to do some service. Car was dealer maintained all it's life but it's ready for a little love. I'll start a separate post with plans and advice on what to do.
