It's cheap and very easy to replace, just order one and put it on, carry your old one as a spare.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

'99 model here with 32k miles. I figure it's time for a serpentine belt change due to age. Any consensus on what brand of serpentine belt to use? Pelican has three ranging from $30-60 bucks. All three say OEM supplier to Porsche, but of course, the most expensive one is advertised as "genuine" Porsche. I'm going to wait on the water pump. Any advice?
At $30 the conti option is a no brainer. It has worked great for me. It is really really simple to do if you have a 24mm wrench or socket and 10-15 minutes.
I just did mine - went with the Conti one - good quality, German made. They are one of the suppliers to Porsche. Porsche has to buy these parts from the supplier - and then mark up to make their high margins - then the dealers also have to mark up - so for part like this I think quality OE brand from Pelican is fine. Same for filters etc. When is last time anyone had serp belt fail ? Back in the 1970's maybe that was common - but not these days if you replace on reasonable schedule.
