This unit was a bit pricey but I wanted a clean look and needed to stick with an Alpine unit (I was replacing a single-din Alpine unit) that the car came with when I purchased it that kept the Bose speakers.

I have the top shelf for the lower console section, I just need to order the lower HVAC control bezel and I will replace the Metra trim there altogether.

My weekend was fun and I managed to fit in two projects on my 04 C4S! Friday afternoon I spent about an hour installing new Function First motor mounts! Turns out my old ones were shot and the new mount really tightened up the feel of shifting, very pleased overall. Then Saturday afternoon I spent longer than I planned installing a new Alpine ilx-107 double din stereo. This unit was a bit pricey but I wanted a clean look and needed to stick with an Alpine unit (I was replacing a single-din Alpine unit) that the car came with when I purchased it that kept the Bose speakers. Below are some photos... sorry no before dash photo on the stereo install. I used the metra dash kit, but not sure I like it... I have the top shelf for the lower console section, I just need to order the lower HVAC control bezel and I will replace the Metra trim there altogether.
I ordered the Function First Shift Right kit and a new shifter ****... so that is my next on my list!

How many miles on the car, and what was the indication that you needed to replace the motor mounts?
I'm awaiting delivery of a F1 Shift right and shift know/stem.... though I'm wondering if I just should have done the B&M short shift kit instead?
I like the feel, it feel tighter when I shift... and there is no vibration or noise from the new F1's mounts. I thought about Wevo but I have no plans to track the car and didn't think I needed semi-solid mounts for street use. I also, thought the price of F1's mounts were at the right price point, a lot of value for the dollar spent IMO. Let us know how your Torque Solutions mounts work out.
I too thought about the B&M short kit... but with the group discount and all the good reviews I thought I would go with Function First's kit. I would like to put the FF kit in a 997 short shift kit.. but then I would just be spending more money than I should! The car has 45K miles on it.. I thought my tail pipes looked a bit low and I the feel when shifting wasn't very tight. I used to have a 964 and from my experience with that car I knew that new motor mounts would help stiffen it up some.
Sweet, I have the same Alpine radio. I love it. I just customized my launch screen to display a porsche logo. Check out my before/after video. It was really easy to do.
