I told him my gas gauge was reading 51 miles left until empty but that it sounded like I ran out of gas or that fuel pump failed (it was replaced last year).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

really was unbelievable car handled and performed amazing. was supposed to rain hard for both days, but, we got dry track 3 of 4 runs both days. instructor let me solo in the afternoon. did i say amazing already? huge shout to Northern Ohio Region PCA, staff at Mid Ohio, Porsche of Beachwood (sponsor) and of course the instructors. looking forward to working my way up the ladder from D to C soon! after last run on day 2 @ Mid Ohio. long weekend. home safe @ sound!

POST 2Original post

Tough to tame as a first time DE, but it sounds like you did great. Mike

POST 3Original post

Congrats! Great to see another car out there fighting the stereotype that tracking a 996 will cause it to immediately explode.

POST 4Original post

first few DEs are always an amazing experience. once you get past the emotions, you can start to really focus on the details. enjoy!

haha.. i must say, with my luck i was worried I'd have oil pressure and/or AOS issues (after reading all the stories on this forum), but, it could not have performed better (just bilsteins w/ H&R) and was a blast learning that the tires will stick on full throttle coming out if turn 1 was mind blowing. Keyhole was a blast as was Madness (got sideways first time), Thunder Valley and turn 12 on the way to Carousel.. just a blast will do another this year. hilarious thing happened on way home, just got off 71N onto 271N after driving for an hour car stuttered and shut down and I thought for a minute that the DE event actually did break the 996. my friend/fellow DE guy was a few hundred yards in front of me, so I called him and he came back. I told him my gas gauge was reading 51 miles left until empty but that it sounded like I ran out of gas or that fuel pump failed (it was replaced last year). Apparently the gas gauge is a little off now as it turned out to be an empty gas tank. made it home an hour behind schedule but very, very happy

POST 6Original post

I was parked 3 spots over from you LOL hopefully you got your air pressures figured out. Did they let you guys do expanded passing in the afternoon? Glad you had fun, and none of the M96/97 powered cars there blew (and there were quite a few.)

Too funny what were you driving? Bert (Mid Ohio instructor/former race driver) took me for a few laps and then came in. I said thx, that was a blast he said we're not done, we're just going to adjust your tire pressures think you have 46 lbs rear right and 35 front left, etc.. he borrowed a guage and he was spot on we went back out and he ripped the course apart (about 135 on back straight) and had the tires hooked for every turn great guy! told me all the car needs is pilot sport cups

POST 8Original post

As a former instructor the part I miss the most is the incredible smiles of the first time participants discovering what their cars and themselves are capable of. Congrats
