Any ideas other than take it in to get replaced under warranty?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know...check the fuse. Fuse is OK. The cigar lighter won't work (won't pop-in), and no other aux unit works. I need it for my iPod. Any ideas other than take it in to get replaced under warranty? Thanks brain trust.

POST 2Original post

Lighters are a pain in the butt to DIY except, maybe if you are Toolpants. Save yourself a lot of time and misery. Disregard what anyone tells you about replacing it yourself. Next time your in for service have them replace it. You'll save yourself hours of misery...Toolpants excluded of course!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Jim. It is still under warranty, so I'll just take a quick trip to the dealer.

POST 4Original post

Speaking of lighter sockets, am I the only person that can't find a power cord that fits these things? I've hardwired my V1 at this point, but once upon a time it really pissed me off that I couldn't fit the V1 plug in the lighter. Any tips?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What do you mean it won't fit (too big or small)? There is a plastic ring adapter if the plug is too big.

POST 6Original post

The male portion of the plug is too long for the female outlet in the console. Where does one get the adapter (dealer?).

POST 7Original post

Try this. Remove the fuse first off. Then look inside the socket and pry inwards on the metal tabs. Put the fuse back in and it should work.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OMG!!! You are amazing. That worked. Thanks so much PTEC.
