Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

M96 teardown: a 996 3.6l motor goes boom. Heres why. NewArts Porsche channel

POST 2Original post

Looks familiar from the engine I tore down last year though that that was crank bearing failure....Thanks for sharing

POST 5Original post

Thanks James. Although nasty, it is interesting to see it come apart.

POST 6Original post

Holy mother of pearl! That's some nasty collateral damage. I'm assuming core failure was the IMS went kaboom and then took the engine with it?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, after all this, I have some very nice parts to sell! Complete heads with cams, caps and covers. All pressure tested and good! see the parts for sale section. Also a tested crank and cradle, not yet listed.
