Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Having replaced my radiators recently, I think the debris that gets stuck between the condensers and radiators

I used 4 brackets on the side pieces, and8 for the middle section.

Suggestion
I do believe Porsche said they tested with screens and found reduced airflow, however I have not had any problems running these screens on my C2 and now on my GT3.

I'm looking for a set for my C4S and would rather not have to drill any holes to install them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My opinion is which reduces airflow more...the screens or all the bent fins on your radiators? Take your pick.
I do believe Porsche said they tested with screens and found reduced airflow, however I have not had any problems running these screens on my C2 and now on my GT3. Engine temps do not appear to be different. That could be climate dependent....my hottest track days are around 90-95F ambient.
I vacuumed out the debris as best as I could, which was a lot, who ever had this nice 996, doesn’t seem to have cared, ever about this car. I can’t stand this. I decided to Chan’s that on this car. I researched grills and I found this on at Mina gallery, in Calif., for $145.,+ shipping. It has a rubber edge all the way around, an included small right angle brackets and screws. I also painted the stainless mesh a gloss black, which I liked better. I used 4 brackets on the side pieces, and8 for the middle section. Yes you have to drill very small holes( screws included), to really hold it secure. Some think it will decrease the air flow to the radiators, I’ve found the temperature stays the same as before installation, and even a slight bit better since all the debris has been cleaned out , (a lot), so I’ve had no problems. I’m thinking later , about moving them a little further back in the cowling for a cleaner look.

has
to be worse for cooling than the slightly reduced air flow.
I tried screwing around with the grilles on my Porsche and it ended up causing the temps to rise higher than the normal 180ish degrees F. Personally, I wouldn't do anything to restrict the air flow through the radiators. I'll admit the grilles do look nice on the OP's car, but I wouldn't do it. I know it's a pain to have to keep the rads clean, but I just keep a small extension vacuum tube for my shop vac handy. It does a great job.
I trust the opinion of JR and feel that a bumper removal once every two years should suffice.
I'd bet money that what you see built up in our radiators/condensers occurred over 15-20 years.
I thought that as well Bill, until I took mine off again this winter, after 2 years. Not nearly what I got out the first time, but still substantial. Vacuuming from bumper openings only get about 30-40% of the debris. I vacuumed mine consistently over the last 2 years and when I pulled it apart this winter, still pulled a 1/2 cup of debris out from between the rads.
