Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Replaced my broken flat black "Carrera" badging with chrome "Porsche 911" (on a dark green car)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I am new to the forum and I am interested in what you guys are doing for mods. Could be engine, brake, suspension, body, electronics etc. Maybe something to give the car a little more pep, or some modern technology you've added. I don't know, really anything I guess.
I modified my 2000 Cab so that you can raise and lower the top while moving. I think your 2001 can do that without modification.
Changed out my "pumpkins" for clear side markers.
Modified the side markers to flash with the turn signals.
Added Fister D mufflers
Swapped out the tail lights for Depo LED lights.
Added aluminum cluster rings.
Added very thin (custom made) LED daylight running lights.
Changed some of the interior bulbs to LEDs
Added Blu Tooth audio to my stock CDR-220 radio. (iSimple Tranzit Blu for CDR-220)
Replaced my broken flat black "Carrera" badging with chrome "Porsche 911" (on a dark green car)
Replaced the CD holder with an upper cubby.
I have a few things ready to go in soon. - Updated coolant tank and cap. New motor mounts. Beefed up coolant connection (not sure what it's called)
All are reversible. I have the original mufflers, tail lights, and side markers.
I will do a more detailed post on this but this is what I did this offseason after my engine grenaded last summer
997S Engine and transmission with Drexel LSD
DUNDON custom exhaust
996.2 Instrument cluster and Environmental control unit
Custom ECU harness
Ohlin R&T GT3 Suspension (got rid of JRZ Double adjustable)
996 Turbo Radiators
All calipers rebuilt and refinished
Dundon DME/ECU Tune
2001 C2 Cab. M030 ROW suspension to lower to Euro spec. Rennline front grill to keep crud out of radiators. Rennline semi solid motor mounts and Function First trans mount inserts to tighten up the shifting. 997 shifter with shorter throw. Next would like some 200 cell X cats and free flow mufflers. Forgot to add LNE spin on oil filter adapter. Much better than the stock canister style.
Recently installed Gentex auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink and EPS IMSB with oil feed. Also installed all four EPS control arm links with Polyurathane bushings.
There are a ton of mods you can do to this car, but not much to increase horsepower and torque. If power is your goal, this is one of the worst cars to mod HP-to-dollar, but the 996 Turbo is a better platform to start with. It has a different engine design thats more suited to higher HP.
Thanks for the insight Murphy, I am not necessarily looking for more power, just curious. To me the car is a blast to drive, not the fastest in a straight line, but no slouch either but when you hit the corners, WHOA
I have a similar spreadsheet with a tab for each car, one for the house, one for gold and silver and a retirement tracking tab.
Do it! Its eye opening to say the least. And if you ever do sell a car, just print that tab and include.
I say don't do it!
I got to page 3 on my spreadsheet and my heart started to have palpitations.
Not because of the money, which I knew was nuts, but more concerned if my wife found it😲
Another self confessed spreadsheet keeper...
One for maintenance one for modifications, some of which include:
Ipd plenum, cargraphic mufflers, LSD, dension gateway 500, cargraphic UD pulley, non smokers kit, 997 shifter and SOFA
Common mods seem to fall into a few main categories: reliability, performance, aesthetics. Lots of options in all categories, check out the FAQ page for a good intro.

28. Body work - This past winter I cut out a bunch of rot/corrosion I found in front of the rear wheels (beneath the plastic wheel well liners and the corner trims) and welded in new steel and re painted).

I'm sure there are a few other assorted items I'm leaving out, but you get the gist of it. I've done a Sh*t load of work to this thing in the 3 and a half years I've owned it and I'm loving every minute of it.

An underrated mod is adding this relay to add the 3-blink (actually 4-blink) turn signal functionality that most newer cars have:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...er/000998229a/
$50 and an afternoon to add a feature you'll use every day.
Also upgrading the cigarette lighter if you haven't already. Mine was the wrong diameter to fit most modern things; they fit loose and made bad contact. Replacing with the 997 part fixes this.
Painted center console is one of the most dramatic interior mods if yours is a drab color and/or worn.
I have the dark blue interior which I personally love. I replaced the cig lighter when I did my double din radio conversion with an HDMI/USB port. I think this conversion of the radio and cig lighter made the car look 15 years newer.
H&R Sport Springs - great value for a perfect ride height drop
LN-Engineering IMS
FVD Baffled Oil Pan
M&M Catless X-Pipe
Gundo Mod the stock mufflers
PFC-08 Brake Pads
Prospeed RS683 brake fluid
O.Z Alleggerita wheels (GT3 Spec)
Nitto R888 tires (235 Front, 295 rear)
On the horizon is a short shift, 3rd radiator, new mufflers. But one thing at a time.. LOVE. THIS. CAR
More info please!
looks like an awesome mod it's one thing I wish the 996 had...
Quick google search revealed the answer:

New seats (from a 997 = difficult to harness)
Suspension - H&R Street Performance coilovers, Eibach sway bars, 8 x control arms, 4 x sway links, corner balance alignment
By chance you have a link or any more info on that usb socket? Love how it sits flush. The cheapo one I have in now pokes out a bit. But thinking further, will it continue to "draw power" if you will if its left in? I may be thinking too far into this...
I am not sure how it would draw power unless you left the lightning cable (charger) plugged into it. There is no power to that source unless the radio is on since the usb in the port is powered by the radio and used for apple play.
Maybe I misunderstood what you meant.
Here is the link to the usb port, it didn't sit flush until I modified the back of the plastic panel.

Let me know if you are interested in a Porsche 997ssk for your car.
Just pulled mine out last week, comes with the neutral lock tool for install and I think that I might still have the original box.
New was $475 from Suncoast.
Used it for 2 summer seasons, total 9- 10 months. I think about 5k-6k miles.
