Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was driving home late last night and heard a "thump" under the car. Went out to the garage and noticed the front plate and mounting bracket was missing (AAARRRGG). Anybody out there have a bracket that they don't need? Thanks, Tom

POST 2Original post

Porsche has a fix for the front bracket problem (very common actually), they recommend switching to the heavier, metal 928 frame.

POST 3Original post

don't bother with the plate itself..just get a sticker made that says california and ur plate# on it. that way u don't have 2 drill holes in ur bumper etc etc.

POST 5Original post

ive seen ppl do it in my city...an despecially in europe where nobody wants to put those huge disgusting front plates on nice exotic cars. as long as you have ur real plate#, and make it to look like a real plate, i don't see what the problem is. the renewal stickers go on the back plate anyhow. i'll be doing that with my new bumper because ill be damned if i'm drilling thru it, i'll let u know how it goes. regards, omar.

POST 6Original post

The holes are already there, but we can plug that problem. Then ditch the plate and hardware in the front trunk in case you have to 'show' it.

POST 7Original post

I have the hardware that I took off my car since we don't have front plates in NC. PM me with your address if you still want the plastic mounting hardware.
