Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been searching around trying to find the right tools for the rebuild I'm about to start on my 2004 C4S (M96/03) engine. Every set I see says 'not for M96/03 engine'. I came across this, but not sure about the model years: https://www.ebay.com/itm/EWK-Porsche...6/232616611429 Anyone know if these will work for my engine? If not anyone know where I can find the tool set?

POST 2Original post

You want the 997 timing tool. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-Camsh...0AAOSwPCVX8dCn

POST 4Original post

If you want to time the cams with the cam cover removed., you will need the cam holding bridges to hold the cams - the two silver holders at the top part of this tool kit https://www.ebay.com/i/272971374960?...15c736fff7073f

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. It looks like the second tool also has wrist pin and clip installation tools - any idea if those are the right ones?

POST 6Original post

Those tools are good for installing wrist pins and cylinders on your engine but you still need the set in the 1st link I sent when timing your engine.
