Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Double click is worth trying too - I have had spiffy Porsche sunshield slip and set off the alarm while it's here at the office during the day, so I got a dollar store sunshield - problem resolved

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last night the car's alarm went off twice - at 1 and 3 am of course. I rolled the SUV behind it in case I had a clever car thief in action (3 am logic is not always the best) It just went off again in the office parking lot. No cats, palm fronds, coconuts or other debris in sight. Any ideas as to what could cause this other than Ferry's ghost?

POST 2Original post

Once I heard someone with a similar situation. It was a moth that came out at night and set off the interior alarm sensors. Try disabling the interior sensors by locking twice and see if that works.

POST 3Original post

Just like those damn smoke detectors that go off at 1-3 am when the battery gets week...Never had one fail during the day.

This is the correct thing to do. The interior motion sensor is too sensitive. An insect, or temperature change causing movement of another object, like a sun visor leaning on the front windshield. I always double click to set the lock.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did the "check twice, lock it again" thing; so far all is quiet in the driveway Double click is worth trying too - I have had spiffy Porsche sunshield slip and set off the alarm while it's here at the office during the day, so I got a dollar store sunshield - problem resolved
