Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did order before it expired, rears Im good but Im worried on the fronts, I order their 9, Im afraid these may be a problem, thinking of calling them and changing for the 8.5.

I drive the car on the streets but also do DE events, so far running street tires.

The only benefit from going wider than the stock 8" and 11" widths (regardless of diameter) would be the ability to run a wider tire.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys looking to order some wheels for my 02 C4S, this is a RWS car, the front is disconnected, it is lowered to GT3 height and it has GT alignment on. I drive the car on the streets but also do DE events, so far running street tires.
I have some options and looking for experience
For the rears I can do 18x11 et 36 or 18x12 et 45, I am leaning towards the 11, really don't think the car needs more bite in the rear
Front I can do 18x9 et 46 or 18x 8.5 et 42, would love to put in the 9's but not sure if they will clear.
What do you guys think
I have now the RoW suspension on my C4S (-2cm) , with 19x11 on the rear and 19x8,5 on the front, and I wont go wider. First, because I think that regarding tire grip is wider enough, and second, because the front wheels clearance when you turn is just minimum. I dont track the car though.
I hope it helps.
The Group Buy for Apex wheels just ended last night. However here is a link to their page that talks about fitments for with wide body 996. For my C4S just ordered Front: 18x8.5 ET42 with 245/40-18 tires. Rear: 18x11 ET36 with 295/30-18 tires. May help you decide.

Yeah this group buy is why I was asking. I didnt see this last night it is very helpful. I did order before it expired, rears Im good but Im worried on the fronts, I order their 9, Im afraid these may be a problem, thinking of calling them and changing for the 8.5.
I pondered the same. I "wanted" to do the wider option but couldn't find a reason too for a street car. Requires too much camber to clear the fronts. I have a fully adjustable setup in my car so i could do it but i don't want to wipe out tires in less than 8k miles on the street for the look. If you don't have fully adjustable front LCA's you won't be able to clear 18x9 in the front (i believe).
The only benefit from going wider than the stock 8" and 11" widths (regardless of diameter) would be the ability to run a wider tire. The max tire width for an 8" wheel is a 245 and the max tire width for an 11" wheel is 305. I don't see much benefit to running wider tires than the aforementioned and can negatively result in rubbing when turning the steering wheel to the left or right with even a marginal increase in width or height (ask me how i know). Additionally, any car (RWD or AWD) will benefit from a front and rear tire combo that results in less than a 2% difference in overall diameter front to rear. This difference can be figured using an online calculator like the
