What I've found is that if you shop around you'll find Porsche dealers that will sell brand new in-the-box Porsche parts with a 2 year warranty for less money than what the dismantlers are selling used for (or any of the aftermarket parts resellers/tuners)

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Have you filing a complaint with the better business bureau in your area? It would be interesting to know if they have complaints filed under their previous name. How are you using the bank to get this straightened out?
The weight of what you bought and what they actually shipped to you is substantially different. I can't see them wiggling their way out of this one. From personal experience I think the only thing that will get their attention is a chargeback on their bank merchant account.
I agree, a charge back on the credit is the way to go and the only way to get attention from these kinds of businesses.
I've had things like this happen to me several times with different kinds of merchants. The last one was for an error in almost $2000 of furniture. It was a family business so I was really giving them the benfit of the doubt, and I was doing all the communication directly with the "president." He finally said something like "I don't have time to deal with this, do you know how many customers contact us each day?" And
this really pissed me off!
. I went on a nice speech to him about it doesn't matter if he sells 10 units or 10 million units a day, if he is understaffed then that is his fault, not mine. I've never received a comment like that from Sony or HP even though they do a million times more business. Can you imagine your bank telling you on the phone "sorry, we have too many customers and don't have the time to deal with your problem." It doesn't matter how much a company sells, they can be understaffed if it's 5 products or 500. I hate that mentality, and hearing what I've heard about Porsche Dismantler so many times, I'm never going to do business with them.
I have had good experience with Parts Heaven though, and would recommend them.

Tell the local government tax inspectors u suspect fraud with them.... they may uncover something and have to get the accountant in - costing them money!
Please remind them that you dont want suspension parts from a front-wrecked 996. I can see it now, you'll get your front end bits, bent..
This is so sad that e-business has come to this..
Good luck!!
They are currently screwing me out of a power steering rack. If you look on eBay, and type "944 rack" GAD is selling (three!?) racks out of a running "1994 968." Well, I bought that rack for 184.00 and drove up there myself to pick it up. What do I find? A rack from a 1984 944, hardly the pristine one they have in their pictures. Supposedly David is going to get me squared away, but I'm not certain anymore.
Check out the pics I took of the place when I was there this past weekend....

Luckily, you weren't buying an engine.............
A friend of mine tells me that he was at a local auto auction here in GA, trying to buy 2 911s.
The 1st was a '87 911 Cab with D90 wheels and 227k miles on it.
The 2nd was a '95 993 Coupe with 115k miles on it.
Both cars were mileage verified to be correct with CarFax and AutoCheck.
GAD bought both cars that day, then a few days later advertised them on eBay with 1/2 of the actual mileages.
They claimed 117k miles for the '87 911, and 67k miles for the '95 993.
I'm told by many that these are typical practices at GAD (formerly PAP).
Pathetic!!!
If you are local to them please feel free to get a hold of me, I have a credit on tap with them for a part I returned but never got to use it..... I think I have about $300 on credit with them.....
I'm willing to part for a discounted price.....

This tread is totally "Edited for reasons...."
I don't trust these wreck yards. They charge a bundle for shabby parts they either have but damaged or don't fit as described. Truth is, these places don't know about the cars they are parting. The color could be off, description / yr can be totally off and most of the time, they send you real crappy parts that are damaged.
Don't waste your time. LA dismantler is another joke. Near dealer new part price for a part w blood on it.
